Pray for VBS 2023

Spin the spinner, beat the clock, skip ahead, level up, and play to win! Twists & Turns is a fantastical celebration of games of all kinds! From classic tabletop games to strategy games to video games and more, kids will play their way through VBS in fun locations such as the Bible Study Game Room, Wild Card Crafts, Multi-player Missions, and Skip Ahead Snacks! But more importantly, they’ll see Jesus through the eyes of one of His closest friends and discover that trusting Jesus as Savior and following Him changes the game entirely! We are so excited to kick off VBS 2023 on July 24, 2023 at 6pm!  I want to take a moment and talk to you about ways you can be involved, register, and pray for VBS throughout the next two weeks! 

If you have not registered your child, please do so as soon as possible! If you would like to volunteer to help before, during, or after please register as a volunteer! It's also important for us to have prayer warriors going on behalf of not only me (Haley King) as the VBS Director, but everyone involved in making this week happen. Please pray for the children, parents, and volunteers participating in VBS.

Use these suggestions to guide you.

PRESCHOOL LEADERS (Babies–Kindergarten)

  • Pray for leaders to have the stamina, wisdom, and patience they need to care for these young children.
  • Ask God to grant wisdom to each leader to share Bible truths in age- appropriate ways.
  • Pray that all preschool leaders will reflect the love of Jesus.

CHILDREN’S LEADERS (First–Sixth Grades)

  • Pray that leaders will be spiritually, mentally, and physically prepared to lead children to Christ as they are directed by the Holy Spirit.
  • Ask God to prepare the hearts of the children to fully understand the concepts of sin and the gospel so that they might apply these concepts to their daily lives.
  • Pray that the leaders in these classes will be sensitive to the unique learning characteristics of the age groups they are leading.

WORSHIP RALLY LEADERS

  •  Ask God to give the Worship Rally leaders the stamina needed to conduct a high-energy program.
  •  Pray that the kids will have a meaningful worship experience free of distractions or interruptions.

MISSION LEADERS

  •  Pray that the leaders will demonstrate a passion for missions.
  • Ask God to help the kids develop a passion for being missionaries wherever they go.

CRAFT LEADERS

  • Ask God to give leaders the words and direction needed to reinforce each Bible story as the children work.
  • Pray for the leaders to be sensitive to each child and his skill level.

RECREATION LEADERS

  • Pray for the safety of all leaders and children as they participate in recreation.
  • Ask God to use this time to build relationships and good sportsmanship.

SNACK LEADERS

  • Pray for those who are coordinating, preparing, and serving snacks to do so with a cheerful heart.
  • Ask God to provide opportunities for leaders to reinforce each day’s Bible story.

Also, pray that each daily Bible story and scripture taught will be fruitful!

Day 1 | Pray that participants will recognize that Jesus is holy and will call on His name. Acts 2:21

Day 2 | Pray for participants to understand that Jesus is trustworthy even when they doubt. Isaiah 41:10

Day 3 | Pray that participants will learn that Jesus forgives even when they sin. Colossians 1:14

Day 4 | Ask God to help participants grasp that Jesus is worth following even when it gets tough. Acts 4:12

Day 5 | Pray that God will reveal to participants that Jesus is for everyone, including them. Acts 10:43

 

Lastly, pray for the VBS Sunday Celebration on July 30th at 9AM! This is a perfect opportunity for you to see how your prayers have been answered as we will watch the kids worship and catch up on everything that went on at VBS 2023! Thank you Coats Baptist for all your support! I hope you will pray alongside me and the pastoral staff that VBS will be spiritually beneficial and that Christ will be magnified above all else!
